About Scott

Hello, my name is Scott Film and I am the Broker/Owner of Scott Film Realty. I grew up in the Brunswick area of Rensselaer County and attended Hudson Valley Community College where I took Banking, Insurance, & Real Estate, and attended SUNY Albany where I received a Bachelor's Degree in Finance.

I entered the real estate field in 1987 where I held a broker's license until 1995 with the largest real estate company in the Capital District, performing all aspects of the real estate profession. My first year in business, I became the "rookie of the year" for my office, producing more business than any other new agent. I did have desires to own my own company, but I saw a lack of real estate financing knowledge in the industry as a whole, so in 1992, I became a mortgage consultant for M&T Bank and learned every aspect of real estate financing from 1992 - 1995. In 1995, I left the real estate company and the bank to form a real estate partnership. On January 1, 2000, I started Scott Film Realty.

In my opinion, customer service is not a department. It is my overall philosophy. I service my customers the way I would like to be serviced. Owning my own company has enabled me to provide better service because I have the ability and complete control on how to best market a property and get it sold quickly and for the most money, which is the ultimate goal in the real estate selling process.

For people looking to purchase a property, I offer Buyer Brokerage representation. This comes with the same great service, but now I am working as a buyer's agent, finding them the best property for the least price possible.

As you can see just by being on the internet and viewing my website, technology is changing everything, and the real estate industry has benefited greatly from new technology advances. In addition to using this website, I use e-mail, advanced home brochures, digital photography, and "talking house machines" to market the properties that I list.

All of this is great, but now is decision time for you. The first decision you must make, is do you really want to buy or sell a property. The next decision is, who will you choose as an agent to help you achieve this goal.
